How to get to the Convention Hotels?

Follow the directions below and you should be allright.
If you come from a direction not mentioned, maybe outer space, let us know and we tell you where to land.

1) FROM AMSTERDAM AIRPORT SCHIPHOL
 
A) BY TAXI. Go outside the arrival hall and queu up for a taxi.
Maximum taxi fares by law are:
€7,50 basic rate incl. 2 kms. From km 3 € 2,20 per km.
Taxi fare to the Avifauna Hotel (main convention hotel) is €58,00 (distance 24.2 kms)
Taxi fare to the Golden Tulip Hotel is €65,00  (distance 26.0kms)   
 
B) BY TRAIN. Go down to the airport railway station. Take the train direction LEIDEN. Change at LEIDEN
for ALPHEN A/D RIJN. The trip takes about 40 minutes. Train fare is €7,50 one way.
At Alphen station, Golden Tulip Hotel is next to the station. For Avifauna Hotel go to the taxi stand (sign posted).
Taxi fare is approx. €10,00. If no taxi available go to Golden Tulip Hotel reception desk. Tell them you are
joining the Convention and they will phone for a taxi for you  .
Alternatively, rent a bike at the railway station for €7,50 per day and have a good laugh.
Or walk, about 40 minutes.
 
C) INTERLINER (busservice) nr 370 from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
Regular bus service called INTERLINER from Schiphol Airport. For Golden Tulip Hotel travel to Alphen
aan den Rijn railway station. For Avifauna Hotel get off at Eisenhowerlaan. (ask driver to call
you). From this bus stop it is about 15-20 minutes walk (go over the bridge and take right direction)
to the hotel. Fare is about Euro 7,30. Buy ticket with the driver.  
 
 
D) BY CAR to Avifauna Hotel.
- Leave airport (uitgang=exit) and follow direction DEN HAAG, ROTTERDAM. You are on the A4.
- Leave A4 at afrit=exit 4. At the top turn off to left, direction N207, LEIMUIDEN, ALPHEN A/D RIJN.
- Stay on N207 for about 10kms. Enjoy the typical Dutch scenery.
- You are entering Alphen a/d Rijn. Follow the signs to AVIFAUNA. You cannot miss it.
 
E) BY CAR to Golden Tulip Hotel
As above BY CAR to Avifauna till:
- You are entering Alphen a/d Rijn on a road called Eisenhowerlaan.
- Go over the bridge (ignore here the sign showing Avifauna), road is now called  Prins Bernhardlaan.
- Go through roundabout in straight direction
- After 200meters on you right is Golden Tulip Hotel.
 
2) BY TRAIN FROM AMSTERDAM CENTRAL STATION
Take train direction LEIDEN. Change at LEIDEN for Alphen a/d Rijn. The trip takes about 55 minutes.
Train fare is €10,00 one way. See above (1B) to go to Golden Tulip Hotel or Avifauna Hotel.
 
3) BY Train FROM EINDHOVEN AIRPORT
- Take bus 401 from airport to Eindhoven railway station
- take train direction Utrecht. Change at Utrecht fot Alphen aan den Rijn.
  Fare is €16,80 one way. Trip takes 1 hour 38 minutes.
- follow direction above chapter 1B "At Alphen station etc.."
 
4) BY CAR coming via Brussels, Antwerp (Belgium)
- Follow direction of Breda on A1. At the 'border' ignore the sign 'Amsterdam follow Utrecht'.
- Continue on A16 to Rotterdam.
- At Terbregtseplein go on A20 (left) direction of Schiedam, Den Haag.
- At exit 12 turn off to A13 towards Delft, Den Haag (Rotterdam Airport)
- Follow signs Amsterdam and continue on A4.
- At exit 6A to N11, direction of Zoeterwoude-Rijndijk/Alphen a/d Rijn/Utrecht
- Follow N11. At Leidse Schouw turn left.
- Follow this road which bends of to the right till you have reached Avifauna on your right.
- For Golden Tulip Hotel carry on as follows:
- Pass by Avifauna. At the top at traffic lights turn right on to Prins Bernhardlaan.
- Go through roundabout. At 200 meters is Golden Tulip Hotel at your right.
 

5) BY CAR coming via Venlo, Eindhoven
- On A2 follow signs Amsterdam. Stay on A2 till exit 2.
- At exit 2 on A9 passing Amstelveen and turn off towards A4,Schiphol Airport/Rotterdam/Den Haag.
- Go through tunnel and take it from 1D "By car to Avifauna"and 1E "By car to Golden Tulip" above.
 
6) BY CAR coming via Arnhem, Utrecht.
- On A12 and follow Amterdam on A2.
- See above(5)"By car from Venlo, Eindhoven".
